How to create a holiday writing habit.

Ok, so your writing is going on hold for the holidays. Or is it?

With the busy holidays coming soon you won’t feel in the mood for writing, right? Too busy? When you do write, do you write for hours at a time? It’s a drag, right? Here’s a solution for you.

  1. Take hold of your pen and write every day, no matter how little.
  2. If you can’t make time because of looking after children, make them write with you.
  3. Make it fun. Go out and find a place that inspires you and others to write.
  4. Reward yourself and others for your week’s writing.
  5. When on some days it doesn’t come out the way it should, don’t worry about it. Leave it till the next day and go and enjoy the rest of your day.
  6. Give yourself a time limit of 30 minutes a day.
  7. Find an hour to read books of various genres. Get the children to do so too.

It has been proven that writing 30 minutes each day creates a habit of writing. It also helps you improve your writing and communication skills. Writing every day is what all professional writers do. By doing the same you could produce a book in a month. If you have that end in mind, it is time to learn how to. Grab one of our writing courses. We teach you how to plan, write, and advertise your book the professional way. We can help you get published.

How to prevent a boring summer.

Hey, the summer holidays will be here soon! Have you realised that you’ve had no time to think about what you and your family will be doing during them? Are you thinking “I’ve no time to plan at the moment”?

Wrong! Now is time to think about what you want to do in the school holidays. Dun dun, dun. Have you thought about starting a writing group in your local area for children? How about taking them on a paper-chase to inspire their writing. It’ll certainly stop them getting bored. But, oh the headache! Get rid of the stress by finding a time to plan.

When is the quietest time in your week or day? Use this time to plan your holidays. It will only take half an hour. Make a weekly schedule that includes an activity that inspires writing creativity and set it for one day a week. This will give everyone something to look forward to. It also gives parents something to motivate their children with. It may even help teachers create ideas to cheer up classes after the holidays.

It is also the time to start planning for what you personally want to happen in the long summer holidays. Try making a schedule for you that gives you a day out each week. If you are a writer maybe you could plan your holiday to include someplace where you can retreat to for writing inspiration. That is especially needed when you have children and need some ‘me time’. Even if it is only a couple of days, it will give you the chance to write your first draft.

If you need help with story planning and writing there are 1-1 lessons available in many subjects such as Arabic, English, self-help, crochet designing and much more. A package of 20 lessons in ESOL for £260 is on offer for anyone needing 1-1 help but cannot afford the fees which are double this for classroom-based tuition in college. They will be taught over Skype, email, or at home, and even in the school holidays. Email a.f.editorial.services@gmail.com for more information.
